Eastman’s new range of Aerafin™ polymers enable hot-melt adhesives with a broad processing window, including the ability to spray at temperatures as low as 130°C.

The Aerafin™ Comparison Tool enables to compare the performance and spray pattern of different hot-melt adhesives for hygiene applications and vary different parameters which are crucial in the development of construction hot-melt adhesives.

Eastman’s technology team ran hundreds of trials with Aerafin™-based hot-melt adhesives, as well as commercially available competitive products which were all videoed. In addition to that, the performance was measured at all different settings. All this data is gathered in the tool and a predictive model, developed by Eastman’s statistical team, shows the performance of different hot-melt adhesives at different add-on levels.

The video comparison mode allows to pick three different settings; these settings are a combination of different spray nozzles, continuous or intermittent spray, a range of temperatures and line speeds. You also have the opportunity to compare Aerafin™-based hot-melt adhesives to a variety of commercially available hot-melt adhesives. You will see the videos of the adhesive being sprayed in machine and cross direction, an image of the spray pattern and the peel strength measured at various points of time. In addition to that, you will be able to see the spray window at a glance and pick the setting by just checking a box.

The Peel vs. Add-On Calculator lets you adjust different settings and the calculator will predict the peel strength as a function of add-on. The calculator will easily show potential savings of material or areas for the increase of performance.
